How did Bee Kind Counselling begin?

Bre Traverse is the Founder and Owner of Bee Kind Counselling. Around 2014, I made the decision that my dream career was going to be in the social work field and back then I had the broad goal of ultimately "helping people". At this time, I was lucky enough to have encountered an amazing social worker who helped me through my own personal struggles and helped shape my passion for guiding others through their healing process.

Years later, throughout my undergraduate degree and lived experience, I was able to discover my specific interests as a social worker, learn more about myself as a human, and learn what "helping people" actually looks like. I then furthered my education work experience, and skills through my Masters degree with a focus on LGBTQ+ population, Mental Health and Indigenous issues.

Being a therapist with lived experience is a really unique position to be in. Having previous struggles with my own mental health, sexual identity and cultural background; then being able to work through and overcome the challenges placed ahead of me, allows me to reflect on the modalities and skills I provide to my clients. This lived experience is what pushes and drives my passion for supporting my client in whichever way is helpful for them.

Bee Kind Counselling was then created in 2021 with the hope of creating a safe space for all individuals no matter their identity or background. A safe place to explore your feelings, emotions, identity, and find ways to manage the difficult times. Bee Kind Counselling ultimate goal is to provide the support individuals need throughout their healing journey.

Bee Kind Counselling recognizes that we are all human, we make mistakes, and we are in no way perfect. It is all about relying on your strengths and recognizing your weakness in order to live a fulfilling, happy, and healthy life.
